Ok I bought this jeep brand new never had a code check engine light. The jeep was being starved of diesel due to chryslers fuel head, never had a check engine light come on. When first starting up should the light brefly come on? I had couple similar problems egr failure, dealer not plugging tranny harness back in. Does the obd2 work different on diesels than gassers.

when starting the entire dash should light for 1-2 seconds including the Check Engine Light
and you can insure it by unplugging the MAF sensor at the airbox

I have the same concern, my Turbo Out boost pipe popped off yesterday and the Check Engine Light was still napping. It comes on when I turn the ignition to on for ~1-2 seconds and the goes off. It however has never come on while driving, eg. Had an injector failure where I sprayed diesel all over the engine and down the firewall... Now the turbo pipe dropping boost to 0 and no Check Engine Lilght.

Is it possible short of bypassing the the light or perhaps attaching it to one of the other lights that come on briefly while turning the ignition on to disable the reporting?

Thanks
