Hi all, Just thought I'd say a big thanks for all the advice and information I've obtained these last few days. I have a late 2005 2.8CRD Auto Limited Cherokee (UK) / Liberty and a 2007 Patriot CRD 6 speed Manual Limited. The KJ has just been in for service and the dealers have done the F37 software. I noticed the difference as soon as I left the dealer and returned the car but of course it can't be reversed. It's currently in the dealers having the torque converter and pump changed. Stumbled across this forum while google'ing the F37 Recall and even though I haven't posted before I've found all the information I wanted and I'll see what I can get out of the dealer. I'm not happy about the drop in torque as the KJ is used for towing a 3300lb trailer. I post on a few UK motoring forums but Jeep knowledge in the UK isn't as widespread as in the US so I'll be visiting this site for future info and give any help I can to other users. Cheers Lee |

Welcome, sorry for the circumstances that brought you here. I too bought a CRD to pull a camping trailer that's between 3000 and 3500 pounds. The first time I towed it any incline was a very big dissappointment, tthe transmission was constantly shifting up and down. Mine also had been "possessed" by the 55 mph shutter from the first day of ownership. I found a lift pump solved the shudder and helped while the towing ![]() |

Thanks for the welcome, I'll have a look in the Euro and picture sections. I've got the KJ back and it's a lot better than it was on the old torque converter, it's now crisper and smoother but has the higher change points. As for the torque, I'm not sure how Jeep explain the reduction as the latest KJ 2.8 CRD Auto has been on sale in the UK from 2005 and is still on sale today. Jeep have always quoted the same figures for the torque output and performance pre and post F37. Taken from http://www.jeep.co.uk Cubic Capacity 2776 cc Configuration 4 cylinders in-line DOHC Bore x Stroke 94.0 x 100.0 mm Compression Ratio 17.5:1 Fuel Delivery Common rail, direct electronic fuel injection Maximum torque 295 lb ft @ 1800-2400 rpm Maximum power 161 bhp @ 3800 rpm Gearbox 5 speed automatic Fuel Type Diesel If maximum torque is still 295lbft it certainly feels a different 295lbft than it did before. Maybe the torque is built up to maximum more slowly, Ford do this on the Euro Mondeo TDCi to prevent traction loss on the front wheel drive. Cheers Lee |

Not sure what is available in the UK, but a good quality performance module, like the Edge Trailjammer, could boost your CRD back to pre-F37 performance. I love mine (though it comes with a big USE EXHAUST GAS TEMP GAUGE warning for towing if it is set to the highest performance mode. |
