I have read through all the tire discussions and am now totally confused. I am looking to upgrade my tires. I live in Maryland where we get snow and ice during the winter. I would like a tire that handles well, but will be good summer and winter and in wet weather. I do not want to lift my vehicle so I need a tire that will fit with the stock wheels and suspension. The current tires are P225/75R16 OWL all season tires on 16"x7.0 aluminum wheels. Any suggestions on Tire AND size, and where to order would be appreciated. The Bridgestone Rivo's seem to be a favorite of many, but will they fit the CRD without rubbing, and what size Revo would be ideal? Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing for winter. My thoughts were to go with the same kind of tire which seems popular on this board, just get them in the same size as stock tires. Not sure how this would work.

Correction on my tire size. The Limited has P235/65R17 tires with a 17X7.5 aluminum wheel.

Do you have the CRD? All CRD's have the 16's, even the limiteds.

I had the Revo's on my 02 KJ they were great for traction but really didn't hold up as long as they should have. if you don't go offraod alot Micheline LTX M/S are the the longest lasting tires I have ever owned, great wet traction and snow traction. They wear like iron. Well worth the extra money they cost. If you want offropad traction to LTX A/T look llike a good choice, I hope to find the AT's on sale somewhere soon.

I installed a set of Revo's on my Wrangler when the Goodyears wore out and absolutely loved them. Quiet, great handling in dry, wet, and snow. I can't speak to wear as I sold my Wrangler 10K miles after installing the Revo's but I'll definitely install another set once the stock Goodyears give up.

Since your KJ came with 225/75-16, what you need to do is go with 245/70-16. That way your instruments will still be accurate because the overall diameter of the tire will be the same, but you will have maximum width for a non-lifted KJ for a good look.

235/70-16 would be too short for your Jeep so your speedo, odo, etc. will count too fast.

In Scotland here all LTD's come on 17"s which puts revo's out of reach to us until they wake up and smell the mud
