The Steiger kit works well, but the $99 seems very expensive for the actual components.
This kit on EBAY is $54:

Anyone use this vendor's kit?

Moparpartsamerica has no kit for the early 2006 CRDs. They sell the regulator and the glass.
The parts listed in the TSB are for late 2006 CRDs and 2007's.

Take it to your local Chrysler Stealership and they will repair it for free under X27 Extended Warranty.

Tried that. My 2006 built in November 2005 is not covered by the extended warranty. Dealer will do the work with a $100 co-pay. Talked to Chrysler Case Manager numerous times about this. Took it to the dealer for a diagnosis as requested by the Case Manager. The $100 co-pay is their best offer.

Looking at Steiger's website, those 2006 Libertys built after March 16, 2006 use different parts than the earlier ones. Chrysler is apparently admitting that the later parts are defective, but not the earlier ones. Since I've had two failures, I find this laughable.

Steigers repair kit looks stronger than the eBay kit to me. Steiger uses a wrapped flat stock spiral and the eBay one looks like they use round wire. I know the Steiger kit is powder coated, can't tell if the eBay kit is paint or powder coated.
eBay post only shows right rear, the Steiger kits are mirror images of each other.
Does the eBay seller have left side too?
Both look stronger than stock.

Autoandart sells either rear window kit or both together on EBAY.

I installed this kit today. It looks very similar to the Steiger, at about 1/2 the cost. The instructions are very sparse compared to Steiger's. The rivet included in the kit doesn't fit the holes. Either enlarge the holes, get a smaller diameter rivet, or use a machine screw. Made in China, but looks like good quality.
At first glance, it looks like the cable won't fit, but it does.

I wonder. Mine rear window reg. just broke last Jan. 2011. Mines an 06 CRD Limited built in Aug. 2005. Dealership repaired it free of any charges just 2 months ago. ??
