| Post subject: | Build Date Location |
A simple question deserves a simple answer? Well maybe... Is the build date listed on the nameplate or do I have to call DC-J Thanks folks! Tom |

My build date is on the sticker on the driver's door. DCX actually has the DAY the vehicle was built listed on their stickers too...I think that part might be located in a different corner of the sticker though. But that's where mine is... |

A question along the same lines: After what build date did Jeep figure out they had some crappy parts (read: EGR)? My build date is mid June and I hope I got past some of the early build problems. BTW: I have been lurking for about a month now and I think this is a very cool and informative forum. |

??????? 2,900 miles so far without any problems, except for the fact that Jeep doesn't know how to program a decent shift pattern for a diesel. |

But I agree, other than minor things - they just can't mate that tranny up to the CRD to save their arses.... |

hahaha.... i dont get it.... on the shift problem, I have heard from some folks that the reflash for the tranny shudder, also fixes the suck butt (English Major) shift pattern. Has anyone else found that to be true? |

Nope, my reflash a couple weeks ago didn't change the shift pattern at all. The computer "learns" your driving habits over time and alters the shift pattern from there. |

But did it fix the shudder problem? I'm starting to notice it on my CRD. I have to really make it do it - I'm rarely cruising at 50-60 but it is annoying when it happens. |

No, it did not fix the studder. |

yeh like he said, the latest flash didn't completely cure the "studder" problem. They replaced my brake light switch last trip to the dealer and I haven't noticed the "studder" since then. But the weather has gotten cooler and my "studder" was the worst on hot days before so I'm not 100% positive that the brake light switch is the cure. |

the studder was fixed on mine with a new reflash on 01/13/06 that came out the day I got it! it seems to have fixed the poor shift points too. hope it helps |

To answer the original question, the build date is on the VIN label on the drivers door:
The top circle shows the month and year of build, the bottom circle is the Month Day Hour (MDH) of build. Hey, better late than never |
