What kind of problems are there with the lift pumps on our crd's? I did a search and could not really find anything that jumped right out? I don't want to trash CP3 ![]() |

Well first off.....our CRD's don't have a lift pump which is the problem. Several after market and stealth installs have been posted. Gary |

The CP3 on our Jeeps has an internal gear pump integrated into the injector pump that draws the fuel from the tank, through the filter, to the injector pump. Many places for potential air leaks. I have the Dodge Cummins in-tank pump in my Jeep. I have a write up about it in the "its 10 pm - where's your lift pump" thread. |

Built-in suction pump at the CP3 which (due to the geometry of the factory fuel-head) creates pockets of compressible air and generally poor performance under specific conditions (like hard accelleration, towing, etc.) |

Only way you can trash a CP3 is to run trash thru it - engine will run fine on 10"HG vacuum at the CP3 inlet, long as it's vacuuming more fuel than air |
