Well it's 1:00am here in Colorado ... but I can't sleep. Last night I was installing a set of vent shades on my CRD and started to wonder about the block heater and where the extension was. I can't find it anywhere, but my window tag that came in it says that it has that option .... I began to think that maybe it doesn't have it, but then thought that every diesel pretty much has to have it!?

Just a curiousity question until I get my rear out there and really start getting under it and looking. Just viewing the engine compartment I didn't see anything ....

The cord is zip-tied to the dipstick.

Yup, zip-tied to the dipstick. That's the first thing I noticed when I started peaking my head around under the hood. I untied mine, and routed it around past the battery and through the grill. Then I put a couple of zip-ties here and there to hold it in place, and keep it from contacting anything important under the hood. Now I can plug mine up without popping the hood this winter. 8)
