They are on sale for our Jeep CRD's for $149. 5 power levels and fuel economy mode. Wonder if it would be worth it just for the fuel economy mode. Opinions please.

This one seems to atach only to the Fuel press regulator. And not to the MAP like the edge chip.
I wonder if it really makes a diference, is a good price if it does !

Can it be used with the SEGR?

I emailed their tech dept. and they said that it connected to the fuel rail pressure sensor and the MAP sensor. I ordered one cause I have more money and time then sense since my knee surgery on Wed. I wanted it for just the fuel economy mode. Will let everyone know how it works. Should recieve it by Tue-Wed. Won't install till next weekend at earlist though as I'm still on crutches.

Only two ways to increase performance on this system, other than ECM reprogramming: offset MAP (Boost)sensor and Rail Pressure sensor, or offset Rail Pressure sensor and MAP (Boost) pressure sensor - one-sensor offset won't do it - ever - fuel makes Boost - fuel without Boost makes smoke - Boost without fuel doesn't happen - so simple even a caveman can understand it.................

Just received the Painless Striker II. It only has the connection for the rail fuel pressure sensor! I called Painless and they said that our engine only needed the one connection. The tech stated that our ECM would adjust timing duration due to the Striker II fooling the the ECM. Hope I didn't get fooled by buying this. I'll try to install tomorrow and give a report back.

After a few runs to familiarize yourself with any pre\post differences, keep an eye on the passenger and rearview mirrors, noting any incidence of increased haze\black smoke - 'course, really best test is comparative with another box

Sorry for my ignorance here, but I am too curious!

How do you know it only connects to one sensor? Does it physically connect between the sensor output and ECM input?

I would have hoped that the PCI bus would be tapped into and the signal altered digitally, then they would be able to alter all sorts of things :D

See GMCTD's post "Sky is falling!". This box, my Edge, and most other plug-in's like this work by fooling the ECU into thinking rail pressures are slightly lower than they actually are. They intercept the sensor inputs that tell the ECU this, and in turn send a signal that is slightly below actual. Nothing so fancy as plugging into the PCI bus (not aware of any "chip" that does.)

Installed the Striker II module. One connection to the fuel rail pressure senor. Easy install. Hardest part was going through the plugged hole in the firewall. Put the module to the right of the steering column, on th 1 1/2" by3"? section. Started-up, ran fine idling. Set module to E(economy) mode. Will drive it tomorrow cause my left knee started to throb badly  (had surgery on it last Wed).

Drove the CRD today to Advance Auto to get maint. items for the Accent. Had the Striker II set to E(economy mode). Seems to have removed any hesitation as in turbo spool-up. Might be my imagination, but that how it seemed to me. Didn't try any of the other modes cause it was raining and dark. Will have my buddy follow me tomorrow while going to the other levels and check for smoking tail pipe.

Also listen for your stock torque converter to scream UNCLE!! Seriously, I can here mine slip with a Predator plugged in and full throttle. It also smokes much more no matter what the throttle position. Took me by suprise how much more- noticable smoke at every take off.

Workhorse Module or Dr. Performance module (same company) Increases 45HP and 90 foot lbs of torque in the Liberty. It increased fuel economy by 2 mpg on my Cummins, and yes, very noticeable power increase.

And what does that plug into? Just the rail, or the MAP too?

I have I Dr.Performance, It plugs into both the MAP and Fuel Rail. I automatically got and extra 2-3 Mpg. Well worth it! I don't see a huge performance difference but there is a huge midrange torque difference, Transmission hates it if I dial it all the way up(slipping and shuttering). I think the chip would perform better w/o the F37. I think it is putting a hurting on trans now that I had the F37. ( I did not have chipped before F37, got afterwards! )

Well, I've only put about 100 miles on the jeep since install. So, I haven't been able to tell if the fuel economy is better. Actually, I filled the tank up on Mar 1 and still have around 3/4 of a tank of fuel left. Haven't driven very much since my surgery. Will be going to Akron for a gunshow tomorrow, so can update a little more tomorrow night. One thing that I have noticed is that it used to shift into 3rd( or TC lock-up or whatever it's called) at 35 mph, now it does it at 34 mph. Also, I don't seem to get that downshift slowing at 56mph as before. Seems to scoot a little quicker than before. I've been running on economy mode since install.
