I am finally getting around to up grading the fuel system on the wife's libby. I have a FM100 with heater and temp probe in the garage. I am planning on getting a Facet 40109 for a pump. I was thinking of a plumbing set up I haven't seen here, but I may have missed it. I wanted to see what you guys think.

Put the 40109 in the factory line at the tank to the FM100. In the supply line from the filter head to the CP3, place a T so that excess fuel returns straight to the tank. This way, the pump is really over coming the resistance of the filter and the CP3s gearotor pump only has to pull fuel from the filter which should be zero psi. A one way check valve would need to be in the return line to prevent the CP3 from suck fuel retrograde from the return line in the event the Facet fails. I'm looking for something simple and reliable. This would avoid any issue with too much pressure to the CP3 and would essentaillly eliminate the vaccum.

Rear-mounted lift pump - good idea, rubber mounted so no intrusive buzzing noises

FM100 - ok if it eliminates the 2-piece head\heater puck

Bypass - unnecessary, prolly cause excessive foaming in hot weather, not even good

CP3 is ok with ~15psi on inlet, most apps run ~7-10psi, so no sweat there with the -109

This is how I installed mine wiring to the battery and # 5 terminal on the relay (see red and green wires). With over 18,000 miles on it, traveling across country three times, I had no problem with this set up. It cured all ills with my CRD so now it's a permanent insulation.

The FM100 is a complete head, heater, 2micron filter and water seperater fron Stanadyne. I have the 1000 on my 06 Cummins.

BlackLibertyCRD; your diagram is kinda what got me to thinking along these lines. I think I'll just install the head and pump with no excess plumbing. KISS it so to speak. I have a couple of fully functional powerstoke fuel pumps sitting around the garage from my dad's truck. I was trying to figure a way to use one of those, but I think it will be easier and cheaper to use the Facet.
