So I'm finally getting around to ordering a ProVent and installing, decided would be a good idea to do prior or once my Samco hoses arrive. But w/ 30K worth of gunk in my CAC will that ever get cleaned out somehow? [I'm planning on looping it back into the turbo (?) and not venting to atmosphere...]
Or am I just stopping the bleeding, preventing my CAC & hoses from getting gunked up any further?

Those of you w/ a ProVent setup how often if at all are you changing out the filter? Are the clear dishwasher/plumbing hoses & plastic connections holding up over time?

As for the filter, never... (at least not for a long time). It's more of a condenser than a filter, so it will take many thousands of miles of hard use with dirty oil to actually block the filter. I might soak it in some degreaser after 50k miles or something.

As for the rest of the hoses, I gave them all a good soak in dawn dishwashing detergent (takes grease out of your way, yaknow...). I'm sure theres some residual oil in the intercooler, in fact even though my filter->intake hose stays clean, there's always a little bit on the MAP when I clean it. It definitely is triage until you can clean things out properly, but I don't know if I want to mess with the intercooler while it's still under warranty unless there's an aftermarket replacement from Banks or similar.

The reinforced vinyl see-thru hoses should be replaced when you cannot - see thru them, that is - they also harden under the alchemy of heat and oil-bath so the one on the CCV puck begins to and won't stop leaking - just re-did mine again from Fall, last year - the CCV hose was pure black, the Provent return-hose was brown from heat with some black from oil - both indicating the Provent is properly scrubbing the crankcase effluent - and, of course, the drain is now tied into the crankcase, so no more drain-scheduling or black spots on the driveway, with the local civic committee sending letters once a week stating the Dalmation look only works for Phyllis Diller and Glen Close, so get it cleaned up, or move....................

How did you go about routing the drain line back into the crankcase? I actually ran my drain line down the fender well and put the valve that fits an empty bottle (it is the valve from an oil bottle extension hose if that makes sense). So I can just reach under and screw an empty water bottle into the valve, open it up, shut it off when drained and put the lid back on the bottle. So it's a clean operation (My HOA sends me letters too ). But, I would way rather not have to mess with it so I am curious how you routed it and what material you used.

I see on TDR where the Big Blue Oval is selling a Provent kit as a dealer option for the 6.6 and other Ford Diesels - looks just like our hombrew kludge, except the hose clamps don't have homedepot sku tags affixed thereunto...................
