I purchased an EVIC from ebay. Was for an LHS 2001. Reading the evic instructions this should work nicely on the jeep (05).

Everything works and i have comunication with the computer, since i can change things and look at avg mpg, dst to empty and change dome light times etc.

Two things don`t work, and seems to be the 2 things i really like.

1 temperature. (i checked the sensor, replugged it and even took it off and measured the resistance and then put it in the fridge and re measure. resistance changed). But the EVIC gets two dashes -- instead of temp.

2 instant mpg, it shows on the evic but is always 0. If i change to metric is always 99.

Input appreciated !

007.

Hi!

I can't help but I want to add an EVIC to our 05. How hard was the install, and do these crop up regularly on ebay?

Thanks! I appreciate your effort in confirming my theories that we could add one to the 05 Libby!

It wasn`t bad. There are plenty for 50 bucks on ebay.

Problems i found:

- temp not working
-instant mpg not working
-wires were inverted on the dome light (cut n solder fixed it in 15 min)
-cant find an ign switched wire in the wire mess so i conected mine to a fuse till i can get a wire tester thingie
-didn`t got the plug for the evic, so i cut the plastic of the evic plug receptacle and soldered cables to the blades (10 minutes)

otherwise :) works great.

I used wire taps to tap on the odb2 plug took me a second to make connections (instead of soldering).

:)

You won't get a pre-04 evic to work properly in a after-04 KJ.

If you got a vehicle that's after-04 you need an after-04 KJ evic.
