CRD Lemon Law

I can't go into specifics due to the verbage in my lawsuit but I am now CRDless. The CRD was just like a boat. The happiest day was the day I bought it and the day it left. After owning 5 Jeeps and two Dodge Cummins I can honestly say I'm done with Chrysler products for a while. I replaced my wifes CRD with a 2008 Toyota Camry and hope it doesn't leave her stranded multiple times with my kids in the car

Sorry to hear your gone. The Camry has a very slim chance of ever leaving you on the side of the road, although it may make you want to kill youself rather than be seen driving it (at least my Corolla does).

I am very unhappy with DC's crappy product support and half baked engineering with the CRD. Nevertheless, with help from those here I have fixed all issues plaguing mine and will be happy to keep it for quite a while. I will think long and hard before I ever purchase another Chrysler product (the only new vehicles in their lineup I would even consider are the JK and the Cummins Ram, and I am not in the market for either).

Those comments are so far away from my world of jeeping - mine has been reliable for the 12,000 miles I've driven it. The KJers I talk to in Denmark hasn't made any complaints. Dare I say that we might have been blessed with other parts over here, without offending people?

What's the offensive part? "Blessed", "Over here"?

You probably have higher quality diesel on average (although the ULSD conversion in the US in late 2006 helped tremendously). Also, you probably have a higher general competency of mechanics and dealer staff.

Societies with more socialist economies (and yes I know there are exceptions to every generalization...) have more even distribution of smart people across all job families. i.e. someone can feel free to get a lower paying job if they know that their families still have decent health insurance. In purely capitalist economies (which the US used to be and still kind of is) the more talented and qualified people tend to go where they money is because that's the only way they have of insuring the wellbeing of themselves and their loved ones. In the US, we have a glut of people without jobs and some industries with employee shortages, but yet both continue to perpetuate because neither wants to be with the other...

Your not the only one to have to go through lemon law. I did so on a 2005 Dodge Magnum RT that the steering always pulls to the right. When the dealer told me me that it couldn't be aligned and I have to live with it, the lawyer deemed the vehicle unsafe and had it replaced at no cost to me.

Although the CRD has it problems, none of them are unrepairable and still a very valuable vehicle to me. I'm able to tow a 3,000 lbs trailer cross country through the mountains 6 times so far. With 52,000 miles on the clock the torque converter shuttles only when towing up a grade. I tried to keep it in overdrive while towing up Rye grass pass so I will take some of the blame for that. The dealer is going to replace the pump and torque converter under extended warranty next week so I have no reason to complain.

Fixes for other minor problems are on this forum like the ORM and lift pump that the dealer is not allowed to applied. I believe the CRD is a great vehicle and I wouldn't go back to a station wagon even though it had a Hemi engine. BTW, max tow for the Magnum RT Hemi is 3,500 lbs. The Hemi is faster but the CRD is a better performer.
