MODERATORS - I posted this in a couple spots - please let us all know where you think the thread fits best. I want to give everyone a chance to see it.

------
Hello everyone,

I'm working on a proposal to submit to Chrysler (along with several other companies) to build one CRD running on Bio-Diesel and another running of E85. The plan will be to build two Expedition outfitted KJ's that will travel the US to major dealerships to act as showcase vehicles. (Other press junkets along the way as well.) There will be dicussions put on about alternative fuels and the impact we can have on our environment by introducing more of their use into our daily lives.

Obviously the Jeep crowd is no stranger to dirt and off-road so the idea here is to build awareness in the off road community. We already have a bad wrap for "tearing" up land so something like this on a national awareness scale can only help. I'm talking with Speed Network and a few major magazines as well to help propel this in the public eye. We'll probably tie of with a couple philanthropic organizations as well some large corporate sponsors. The possibilities are really endless. I'm open to any help or suggestions.

I've been working on this for about 3 months now (prior to me obtaining my CRD) and I'm at the point where I need to build the portfolio of images and I need some good shots of "Expedition Style" KJ's. I don't want to knock anyone who has a less equiped rig but I'm looking for rigs similar to tjkj's. Very clean lines, not over done and that "Expedition feel." The shots will need to be high-res and taken in some urban areas and then also some shots in city locations. I can't offer any funds or compensation but I can tell you that your vehicle(s) if chosen will be the spearhead for this intiative and be presented on the proposal and docs.

On another note, I'm looking for a webdesigner that would be willing to help build a website based around the project. Something similar to http://news.drivearoundtheworld.com/ or other expedition following sites which will showcase the project and keep it going over time. The plan if all goes well would be to build two rigs and have them completely outfitted by Q1 of 2009 to embark upon the expedition around the US. Ultimately if I can gain enough traction the plan is to get two rigs donated but, if worst case comes up I'll use my CRD along with someone else (locally to Central Florida anyone?) who would be willing to become an integral part of the expedition. I'm thinking about working an angle to allow flag ship sponsors to "partial drive" segments of the expedition so that myself and the rest of team could fly into dealerships to do the talks...I don't know there are so many ideas floating around in my Excel sheet right now.

I'm open to 100% suggestions but if you have negative energy or attitude please do not bring it to this thread. I know I'm new here but please know I'm no virgin. I've wheeled on multiple continents, planed expeditions in Belize and Australia and competed in off-road races. In other words - I have my druthers... I'm very excited to be working with the KJ as a fresh platform and can't wait to see this project grow. I've been a Land Rover man for the past 8 years. My KJ is my second Jeep. Funny how things come full circle - my first off roader was a YJ Sahara.

Many thanks and kind regards all,
