Now that these mods have been out there for a long time, I'm curious to gauge what percent of owners are disabling the EGR in one way or another, whether it be just unplugging the MAF or running Turbo Tim's box. Oct 07 23,000 dealer replaced EGR valve and AFC. Nov 07 23,900 did the EHM and installed Fumoto oil drain valve. Jan 08 26,150 installed the SEGR kit. The difference in the texture of the oil is unreal. Oil is now like diesel oil should look like, just light black. No brown in there. In fact, changed the oil today at 28,767. Today I used Rotella Shell 5w-40. Been using Mobile 1 0-40. Just to see if I can see any difference is all. Steve |

I've been running the ORM since it was first introduced. I finally installed the SEGR about a month ago. Has anybody check IAT's with/without the SEGR. I've seen results of ORM vs stock but not SEGR vs bipass plug. Curious because with mine the ORM felt zippier than with the SEGR and I'm trying to figure out why. and yes, I've checked the wiring 3 times to make sure I connected it all correctly. Gary |

I am not. I did the ORM for about 5-8k miles went back to normal and really haven't gone back. I'm getting great mileage and I've only had one EGR replaced around 28k...I'm not at 46k. |

I noticed my fuel gauge does not drop as fast with the ORM, here is what I have observed: 1) Longer time for engine to warm up. No EGR going to the manifold=no heat going to EGR cooler and into cooling system. 2) Small amount more noise. Oxygen will make the burning process start a little faster producing a wee bit more knock, not a problem for me. 3) More torque at midrange and higher RPM. Can't wait to get my SEGR box done, hotel time when I am awake enough to do it is a premium. When you get a few more years under your belt, your eyes get tired at night and things are harder to see even with magnification. Steve |

I like the SEGR. Especially the design of it. Has been on for 12K miles now and EGR hasn’t failed (or operated) yet. |

I'm runnin ORM right now, waiting for SEGR ! Definately more MPG and midrange with ORM, Oh and I almost forgot, it's got more clatter, which is great cause it's a diesel |

I have been running the ORM for about a year and a half except for visits to the dealer. It does make a positive difference. I have the SEGR but have not built it and am a little hesitant about cutting into the harness until after the warranty. There have been some harness issues on some CRD's and I keep in mind Drharv's experience. |

Some people may not want to say so publicly, for warranty and legal (emissions inspection) reasons. As for myself - greater than 400 feet and 20 knots, and no I can't discuss the technical aspects of the movie "Red October", we only have the capability to carry nuclear weapons.

I voted yes to ORM I have 60,000 miles on the ORM and 80,000 miles on the odometer. It was the cheapest easiest mod that gained me about 2 mpg. My only other mod was the Darby window sticker mod and that gained me about 2 mpg also.

Having cleaned out ridiculous amounts of tarry gunk from my VW EGR valve and intake manifold, the ORM was a no-brainer for the Jeep. Unplugged it within 200 miles of purchase thanks to this forum. |

Voted ORM, soon SEGR . Did the EHM , waiting for provent. Good G. the mess from that hose! Cleaned the MAP, that puppy was pretty caked. Thanks to everyone's work putting this info together I had the confidence to buy my CRD in the first place. Have started noticing some improvement in milage but only had the puppy for about 5,000 mi. (bought at 30,000). Looking forward to wheeling it in the future.

Bought the SEGR kit but there are reported problems with the kit. It remains unassembled. This Liberty has enough problems without importing more into the system. Will probably do the EHM soon. Thinking about a ECM reflash to delete the EGR and increase power but would do a lot more research and probably replace the torque converter and transmission mods first so that the increased power does not cause the t/c to shred into my tranny. R |

I, for one, am grateful to live in a land where our EPA/CARB overlords still allow us to personally emit global warming pollutants from our bodies. (CO2 and occasional methane). |
