I've never seen anything that could kill bugs like my windshield. A day on the road means a night of scrubbing the windshield. Would this thing push the bugs up over the roof rather than into the windshield? http://www.justforjeeps.com/airdefr1.html |

I bought the dealer unit shortly after having the fifth bigish rock chip on my windshield; no new ones since the installation. I do not see a reduction in buggage though. |

I put one on my Jeep after a trip through MT yielded a cracked windshield from a pebble. After installing it, my next trip to MT yielded 3 chips in the windshield. Looks neat though. |

I put one on a week after I bought the Jeep. Bugs still end up under the windshield wipers, and I'm on my 3rd windshield (in 2 years) because of cracks from rocks, etc. ![]() My 95 Jimmy (with a bug shield installed) only had one windshield replaced, so my vote is "Not worth it". |

Grumble... I guess it's not worth it then. I'm still shopping for a tire cover and I like the looks of those taillamp grilles too. I just don't recall cleaning my windshield much with my other cars. ![]() |

I also bought one like this in the hopes of reducing the bugs, it has not. I do think it looks better with it on though so it is still there. |

I'm also doubting the effectiveness, I think when they redesign them to be more aerodynamic and closer fitting to the hood they lose effectiveness, although they do prevent chips on the front of the hood still. I think the original ones that were pieces of flat Plexiglas were most effective but then again I am a bit of a young'an. K |
