Hello, I havent had a problem with my CRD in a long time, but now I think my transmission is going bad again. A couple of days ago, the following happened: Jeep was parked for about 4 hours. After leaving the parking lot I coasted towards a red traffic light. Light turned green while I was coasting so I slowly accelerated. While trying to accelerate, the Jeep sputtered 3 or 4 times. It was acting like there was either air in the fuel lines or like it ran out of fuel. This was the first and last time this has happened. Second issue: After the Jeep has been parked for a couple of hours and I put it in D or R for the first time, it feels like I'm driving with the handbrake set all the way. The engine revs up and Im barely moving for the first couple of feet. This only happens after I've been parked for a while. |

How many miles do you have on the jeep and have you changed your transmission fluid yet. |

It sure sounds like it's low on fluid, filter pluged or a pump problem. |

Problem 1 sounds like air in fuel. Problem 2 sounds like transmission filters. Did you get that TSB done for the defective filter? |

I did change my transm fluid and filters, about 1000-2000 miles ago. Currently its got 42000 miles on the clock. I dont think I did the filter recall, I did get the TC replaced though. I will check my fluid this weekend and see if its low. |

If you still have the info, post the part number of the cooler-return filter (the round one) you installed - defective filter causes similar drive-away symptoms - also improper installation of either filter, resulting in leak(s). The starving-engine symptoms are fuel\air-related, which could also be filtration, or air-leak |

My transmission did this also last summer and the dealer could not fix the problem, they had it in the shop for over a week. I have not had this problem since last fall and I think it may be related to the outisde temp since it has barely seen 60 here this sping so far. In a couple of week I will be going to the south west and should hit some very warm temps, I am expecting the delay in engagement to return with the warm weather. |

Exactly, this is only happening in warm weather. Currently its about 70-80 during the day but Monday and Tuesday its supposed to go down to 30, I should be able to see a difference. |
