I purchased a very nice book about diesel engine management the other day, and after a short read I think I would like to share it with you guys. It covers all the components in a modern diesel engine, and describes the control strategy and complexity involved in making injection systems for our beloved type of engine. I thought some people who (like me) are very technically interested in the diesel engine management system. The book is targetted at university students, but over the first 65 pages there has been little more than a few formulas, most information is in the written word and in very nice drawings, plots and diagrams. It won't give you much information if you're about to build a new engine, but it will give a lot of overview of the dynamic behaviours of a modern diesel engine. Subjects are diesel fuel, injection schemes, comparisons of injection systems, compression cycles, exhaus gas treatment, chemical reactions, legislations and turbocharged systems. ISBN: 0-470-02689-8 |

Neat - does the book have a title, or is it one of those secret society issues? |

quote from Sir Sam's review: "Guess you could say, if Bosch publications are exorbitantly expensive, this book is one." Anyway, back to the main theme - some of the other Bosch titles listed are just sections\chapters lifted from the main tome and individually bound for your viewing enjoyment (cheapskate!). |

Actually at $65, while a nice chunk of money, would be the cheapest textbook I have purchased this far, Thermodynamics $210, Calculus $160.........etc. I spend about 1/5th of my income a year on textbooks. $65 is nothing for a required text, but as a luxury reading item, is expensive. Uffe, why don't you send me yours when your done. |

I ordered mine directly from the RB 'site, but did get the discontinued 3rd edition for a mere pittance, to see if anything was omitted for the 4th - nothing siginificant to the CRD was added to the 4th, so the 3rd was donated to a worthy cause |
