Post subject:  filter question

I remember that it was mentioned that some other filter needs replaced besides fuel or air occasionally. I cleaned the MAP sensor today and want to take care of anything else that might save fuel.

Post subject:  Boost pressure solenoid filter, Inspect.

It is located on the CRDs right side (Your Left looking under the hood) along the inside of the fender. The filter looks like a fuel filter used for the old single Solex down draft carburetor VW Air Cooled engines and some other small gasoline engines. You may get a better price at an auto parts store by doing a visual match up

Don't let Chrysler LLC stick the Klingon Death Knife in your back and break the blade off, it should only cost $3-$5 :P :P :P :P :P :P

Can anybody get a picture of the boost pressure solenoid filter? I'm curious, my mileage dropped about a mile per gallon recently even after I changed the oil and air filter as well as cleaned the MAP sensor.

Thanks,

Post subject:  Look between....

...the Air Filter and the coolant reservoir on the inside of the fender. It is a small see through plastic filter with a small pleated paper filter element inside.
The purpose of this small filter is to protect the boost pressure solenoid valve from getting filled with junk or oil.
Looks clean, no trash, debris, or oil, it is ok!
