Title says it all.

I'm going to buy a house very soon, and in doing that there is not enough room in the economy for me to keep the jeep. I couldn't sleep for 2 nights just thinking about letting my beloved KJ go. This forum has also been in my thoughts. It's a really hard decision for me, because I've learned so much and discussed a lot with fellow owners. Especially the high technical angle on the car has given me a lot as an engineer and KJ owner.

I will stick around to offer my assistance and bad jokes on related topics.

Replacement car is a high MPG Suzuki Swift DIESEL (obviously a diesel) brand new. Those 3 years covered by warranty will set my mind at ease regarding repairs.

Hopefull I'll be back in a jeep in some years time when the load is lifted off the economy. This forum has been invaluable through my ownership, however brief it has been.

I have a feeling many here would get a swift if Diesel was an option.

Congrats on the new home purchase ... its one of the few material investments that will actually appreciate ...

Sorry to hear about the KJ - but what kind of mileage does a Suzuki diesel get?

(I suspect they have lousy ground clearance - so be careful offroad)

Mixed emotions, eh - sorta like watchin' yer mo'-in-law drive off a cliff in yer KJ........... :) :( :D

Course, we do expect an informal show'n'tell session, sort of an info-mercial, on the new ride

Exactly like that gmctd :D

The Suzuki gets 55MPG at hwy speed. About 48MPG mixed.

I'm not sure when I will take delivery of said vehicle, but I will do a little presentation on it later on.

I bet those ASFIR skid plates won't fit it without modifying either the car or the plates...

That's real bad news Uffe, good news about the new house though. Are you trading in or selling kj privatley?.Hope you'll still pop onto forum and we'll work on a 5" lift for the suzuki. Are the skids up for sale?.

Yep those skids are for sale. They're pretty heavy though, I think the mailman would get a strange look in his eye if I stuffed it into a letter

5" lift would look odd on such a small car - it's bought for fuel economy, so I would consider LOWERING it instead :D

The real solution is to get a 2nd car - a 4x4 which is cheap and reliable. Then I can have some fun again, but I bet it won't be just yet...

Hey! Uffe...
That looks as good as my new R32 VW!
VW don't get that fuel economy though.

Best of luck! Larry Kurtz :D
