Looks like a little what? if it looks like a little engine, have it scanned at Auto Zone or other parts store and then post the codes here.

 While I can be annoyed by all the cap letters, We need to be a little kinder here! Some times, people new to the internet and forum use, don't realize that the CAP LETTERS indicate yelling, speed, etc. He'll catch on. Lets just try to help him.

Allen,
What does the light look like? You left that part out of your message!

Agreed.
I have been here for a year a half or so and still haven't mastered all yet.
We are here to learn from others and to try to help others.
Lots of second or third owners here that do not have a clue what they
have under the hoods(bonnets, if you wish).
My 02 worth.

Uffe,

I am a new guy and I am sure I will pull some unknown goof eventually. (I did not know that all caps ment that myself) However, I would not have taken the comment personally and I got a real laugh out of it. Thanks Uffe I'll Miss Ya!

The owners manual can at least tell you what light it is. I've seen brake, check engine, and electronic throttle lights come turn on or flash on mine. The symbols are per an ISO standard that theoretically, any illiterate in the world can understand. In practice, even degreed engineers have to look them up sometimes...

Check page 155 of your owners manual.

Also as a rule of thumb, if it's just lit, it's an issue that needs to be investigated when you get home. If it's blinking and you don't know why, pulling over is the cautious thing to do. Turn the car off, calm down 5 minutes, and turn it back on. If it's no longer blinking drive home and investigate. If it's still blinking the safest thing to do is call a buddy for a ride.

No problem. The first thing you need to do is to read the codes that generated the Check Engine Light or CEL. You can go to just about any auto parts store and they will read the codes for you. write them down so when you get home you can post them on this thread. You will get a wealth of experience from other CRD owners who may have run into the same codes or issues.

The codes, sometimes called P codes are usually in a format like P0124. These are Problem codes and there is lots of references on this forum to tell you what they mean.

All 1996+ vehicles use standardized OBDII codes, just plug in the reader and get the code out.

Also, it may not seem like much to you, but TYPING IN ALL CAPITALS IS LIKE YELLING!!!!!!1!!!1111!!!!one!!!1 And generally is considered to be rude, annoying, obnoxious, or in poor taste. No one is belittling you about it, just giving you a fair warning now.

Yes but some codes are different for our CRD's  Here's a link to the CRD versions.

When you get your code(s) write them down and in the order they listed in
