That is pretty low. I think the price of diesel has just raped the price of CRDs in the last 4 or 5 months. By the beginning of Summer though they'll even out as unleaded goes sky high and diesel remains steady.

As a side note, I love how everyone that sells a vehicle has mostly highway miles. It's amazing that I see all this traffic congestion in my little burg.

That's most likely the wholesale value of it. Sir Sam do you know what thes are going for at auction?

they state they are selling due to job loss, sounds like smart folks to me, price it as low as you can to get out from under quickly.

Many (most) folks don't react quickly enough to major economic changes in the household, every minute wasted can cost months at the other end of the tunnel...or worse.

I know what wrecked ones with salvage titles are selling for.

Re: salvage titles - be careful. There's been a lot of flooding this year! When faced with repairs and/or unreliable rigs, some may try to unload.

There's also this guy in Denmark who's been underbidding everyone with an 04 KJ by $6000, as I'm trying to sell my KJ this is real bad timing...

Here in Germany I can get $20,000 for my 06 CRD. I just can't part with it though.

That's the same price I'm asking for my 03 in Denmark - we got 50% tax on cars though, which can explain the price :)

Yep, in this area it pretty much sucks if you're trying to sell a diesel right now - the only thing people look at is the price at the pump, they're seemingly unable to figure out the economics of car ownership and fuel mileage past that point.

OTOH, if you're in the market to buy a used diesel right now, the same logic as above has driven the asking price for a VW TDI or MB diesel back down to something approaching sanity. 2 years ago it was simply outrageous - dealers asking nearly full MSRP for any TDI with less than 100K on it, regardless of year or model, in this area.

One bright note, at least for me - as of last week mine is paid off, 6 months early, as part of my financial preps for being laid off. I'm putting as many miles as possible on the MB for the forseeable future until the economy, fuel prices, and my future employment situation sorts itself out - if it ends up such that it's just too expensive to operate the CRD and all it wil be doing is sitting in the driveway, such that I'll be forced to consider selling/trading it, the fewer miles on it the better - still under 30 K miles at this point.

For 20K I could part with mine, almost like driving free for 3 years.

My guess is he must have paid around $20,000 for it and if he sells it for $20k then that's "free" driving" for 3 years:lol:

Didn't pay much more than that for it so it's as close to a free ride as you get when you can drive it 3 years and get your money back.
