Does anyone have any experience with this filter? The demonstration scares me. I hope they didnt oil the k&n filter before the demo-I've had one in my dodge cummins for 180k and about to turn 200k and this scares me. http://www.shopatron.com/product/part_number=35200/576.0

I've seen the demo before on You Tube yeah it's a little crazy all that dirt that gets trapped in there, K&N is a big no no for the CRD, and I honestly can't see how this would be any better. If the dirt can get sucked that far into the filter to begin with, what's stopping it from finding a way to your engine while it sucks air every day you drive it? At least w/ a paper or Amsoil filter it's a fine barrier, that foam is pourious just like a really thick K&N.... I'd stay away

True-Flow, not Pro-Flow....correct? The sealed setup is pretty cool, shame they don't have it for the KJ, at least it would be a true cold air intake setup if properly plumbed.

I work in the powersports industry and most of the dirt bikes and atvs use foam filters that are oiled with a tacky oil. I know with k&n as well as foam it is the oil that stops the dirt not the foam or fabric.

Is there truely any advantage to a non-paper style filter with a diesel?

First I have NO AFFLIATION WITH AMSOIL  But I have one of their air filters on my CRD and can definetly hear the turbo whine better  So there's got to be less restriction then paper. As to the effectiveness of the filtering media I don't know. I do know the filter area of paper filters can very widely by brand and the CRD's gasoline filter is not big enough for our CRD's as diesels ingest much more air then a gasser :?

The best thing about the AMSOIL EA air filter is that it has more surface area than the stock paper filter. There are about 40% more pleats and they are slightly taller. More surface area allows thru more air easier...and is still filtered properly.
