Advance Auto has Mobil 1 synthetic on sale, 5w-40 turbo diesel, 5qts w/Mobil 1 filter for $26.58? Trouble is the they didn't have the filter for the CRD in stock. Didn't bother to ask them to order one, just got one for the Elantra. :evil:

I took advantage of this today.
My local shop also did not have a filter in stock, but they offered to order one without any prompting.

Use the one that fits a Ford v8. I cant remember the number but it replaces
a Motorcraft FL-1A or Fram PH8A.
I fits, put one on mine.

If they don't have the Mobil 1 filter the CRD calls for, use the M1-301. That's what I use.

the fumoto and the HUGE M1-301 it is about 2 times the size of
the stock filter... all on sale :lol:

So, the M1-301 actually fit, huh?
I stopped to pick up the filter they ordered for me today and grabbed an M1-301 for comparison and was surprised.
I too guessed that it was twice the size of the real filter.

before i put it on i put the two opening to opening and the gaskets lined
up... put 0.4 qt in the filter and spun it on quick.

What is the difference in the filters? Just capacity, or material and bypass settings?
