I have been running either our home brew bio, retail B-99/B-100 for roughly 13 of the 16 thousand miles I have on my CRD. I also have a Mann Pro-Vent for almost exactly the same period of time. Recently we went on a two week vacation which resulted in me having to buy fossil diesel mostly from Flying-J’s. Petro’s, LUV’s etc. I check the Pro Vent before leaving and I was wondering what is all this hoopla regarding it filtering the exhaust gases because the filter was VERY clean and was wondering if I blew $140.00 on a gadget. Well I just checked the ProVent this morning after say 1,500 – 2,000 miles running fossil diesel and it was filthy. Is Bio that much cleaner that fossil? BTW, towing about 2,800 # never get less that 17 cursing with OD on at about 1,800-2,000 rpm. |
