After only 4000 miles on our CRD, we had to get new tires. Those Wrangler STs were just too squirrely. We went with Toyo Open Country A/Ts, and let me tell you - quite the difference! The CRD will still break em loose on wet roads - but they don't stay spinning like the Goodyears. They will just slip a little, then the LSD kicks in and they start to grab. WOW. Anyone with a new Liberty - just dump the Wranglers right away. Seriously. Just consider them a "Goodyear Tax" on new jeeps - and budget right away to put better rubber beneath you. You will not regret it.... |

My KJ has Wrangler S4 and to be honest I find them fine on our type of roads in Scotland I have tried to provoke them in the wet a couple of times but they bite after just a small amount of slip esp. when the diff lock's up. Glad we didn't get the ST's here |

I ditched the OEM Wrangler ST's within 3 weeks of purchase. The '02 Liberty Sport 4x4 we traded was shod with some P235/70R16 Dueler A/T REVO's about 5 or 6 months before we bought the CRD. The new '05 Liberty Limited 4x4 CRD also got 5 new P235/70R16 Dueler A/T REVO's as well. Whenever the wife can make a comment about "these Goodyears are crappy....I want some more REVO's" you'd better bet the Goodyear ST's are crappy. The Wrangler SRA's that were OE on the '02 were great tires and lasted a long time. Greg |
