Post subject:  Lift Pump and Fuel/Air Separator Questions

1. What aftermarket fuel pumps are best for the CRD?
2. What locations are best for the fuel pump?
3. What aftermarket fuel/air separator systems are being used on the CRD?
4. I also would like a fuel heater for biodiesel. Any suggestions?
5. Are there any fuel/air separator systems with a fuel pump that are sold as a complete kit? This is what I’m installing in my Cummins. http://www.dieselpp.com/ I like the FASS system because it also has the Water Separator that includes a fuel heater. I’ve heard that you do not want to run a pump with a higher gallon per hour rating than your engines horsepower or the life of the fuel pump will be greatly reduced. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :D

I'm very (spoiled) with the aftermarket world as they make performance upgrades for the Cummins in which I can easily order straight out of a magazine. I'm very LOST when it comes to the 2.8 VM. In the case of the 2.8 VM, you actually have to be intelligent and know what you’re taking about. Unfortunately, I don't have a clue. :? So any help would be GREAT.

Thank you SIR SAM for the IM,
1. The Cummins Lift Pump seems to be popular. Here's the link: http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... hp?t=26385
I have a lot to read. Wow, I think this link should be a sticky.

The JK will have a too high pressure lift pump to be used with the CP3 pump. You will need to have the tank dropped and follow what GMCTD has documented on putting in the low pressure pump.

Yes, most likely we will use the diesel tank module purchased from overseas to solve this problem.

Thanks for the heads-up. Fortunately, we’re planning to use all factory (Mopar) European parts that are currently being used for the Wrangler. I’ll be swapping the gasser fuel tank for the JK diesel tank. To complicate matters, I am doing a KJ and JK diesel swap. I figure what will work in one will work in the other.
