Post subject:  Airbox MOD and extended dealer warranty???

HI-- bought my parts for the airbox mod and was just wondering if anyone has had any rumblings/problems from dealer with this voiding an extended warranty.... I bought the one.... can't recall exactly but will get me up to around 80,000mi under warranty........... i'm just tired of changing FILTHY air filters at every oil change (or before) if i get motivated.......

I'm sort of thinkng that once you get the bottom half of the v6 gasser airbox in there it really doesnt LOOK any different than stock..... maybe hand onto the old one in case i run into some issues...... and swap it back before the dealer looks into the problem (hoping none will occur of course....)

any thoughts?

I believe a few CRDs came with the V6 style air box from the factory...maybe Euro ones also...you should be OK.

Out of curiosity, does anyone have any pics of the differences between the two air boxes? :?

It is basically the inlets are different...one thru the grill down low and the other over the top of the grill just under the hood. So, you are just bringing air in from different heights...that is all.

Dealers want to make money on warranty claims, spoon feed them so they don't have to stress them selves and you should be OK.
