Post subject:  TCM & ECM software question?

Which software version changed the shift points
AF
AG
AH
AI?
I have the AJ version but it slips a lot and the TC doesn't lock up until 53 or so in 4th. I am working with Charlie at KermaTDI to get a decent version of the software and try to copy it to an updated TCM.

Also, which software version on the ECM is the most desirable? We want to use that as our baseline. My software version is post F37, so it isn't a good baseline.

Here are the 05 ECM software versions for the US.

56044562AF
56044562BA
56044562BB
56044562BC
56044562BD
56044562BE
56044562BF
56044562CA
56044562CB
56044562CC
56044562CD
56044562CE
56044562CF

and the 06 versions

56044776AA
56044776AB
56044776AC
56044776AD
56044776AE
56044776AF
56044776BA
56044776BB.

Which version dropped the power output?

My '05 got F37, new TC & pump in Mar\APR 07, is rev AF:5157C3B9 - for a comprehensive answer you'd need to find a really savvy, really caring Jeep tech, one that could wield a DRBIII and Starscan with the greatest of ease - a modicum of savoire faire wouldn't hurt, either.

Does anyone have the BF version on their ECM? If you do, is your jeep F37d?

I would really like to know. I may have found a TCM that is not f37d if this is the case.

It still could have the F37, just that the part number on the case is the older part number, remember you can flash an old part with the new flash.

I know that you can flash the old part and not label it. That is what they do to the TCM and possibly the ECM. However, the ECM is ussually labeled more accurately. I may be playing the odds but it might be worth a calculated gamble.

I know of a person on this board that has a non F37 TCM and the ECM does have an update sticker on it.

They also could have just put the sticker on the vehicle. That way you never got the sticker on the TCM, but the vehicle got it.

I would ask for the vin it is coming off of and check that vin with jeep for recalls, if it shows the F37 outstanding, I would say its a good bet its not a f37 TCM.

The vehicle is in europe, but has the same part number. It shows up as needing a flash and torque conver, but that it is looking for a US vin, not euro. The vehicle was brought to them in July 2007. They told me that the vehicle was probably wrecked a couple months earlier. That would give it 5 months to get the F37 (the F37 officially came out in 12/06), that doesn't mean that it didn't get an "unofficial detune." I realize that I would be gambling, but it may end up being a calculated gamble.

Someone PMed me and said that the CD version of software has a lot more power than the CF (does that stand for CFed) version. CD is probably the last good version.

both the US and euro vins are 17 digit, so they can both be traced in the jeep database pretty easy

I think there is agood bet this is not a F37 TCM

Post subject:  Finally decided to take a chance!

I got the TCM today. Checked the software version via Vag-Com. Any guesses which version of software is on my junk yard TCM?

Yes it is! It's shift points have changed down. You can lug the thing a lot more too! There are a few of us working on copying the pre F37 software to the post F37 TCM. I hope we can get this working.

That's how I remember mine for the first two weeks I had it. I wonder how it would pull my 3500# travel trailer :?:

If you can get to pre F37 - I'll buy one.
