My ABS light has been coming on for about a week. Yesterday it would come on and stayed on any time the brake pedel was pushed but also the odometer would quit recording when the ABS light came on. Where is the connection between the brakes and the odometer? Anyone have this problem or know what the fix is? The dealer told me that an ABS module would cost between $500.00 and $600.00.. I have a little over 79,000 miles on the 05 CRD.

Chances are that the rear diff sensor is bad or has a bad connection. The sensor is at the top of the pumpkin, when it fails it causes the ABS to light up and the odometer will stop counting. Check the wiring to the sensor and think about replacing the sensor. Mine has been replaced 3 times under warranty.

I had a similar issue with mine. Dealer replaced sensors but no fix. I read on this forum about bad wires, relayed that to dealer, dealer checked wires, confirmed bad wires and replaced them. No problems since (all under warranty)
