At 1600 miles, my Liberty had its first biodiesel fillup at a truck stop in north Denver. It was $2.69 / gallon - and they had one filler hose in car size. I was the talk of this gigantic truck stop, that's for sure. First, the cashier thought I was some idiot who had accidentally pulled up to the diesel pumps. It took me and one of the truckers to convince her that there are diesel Jeeps all over the world, and they're just starting to filter in here. When he mentioned it was a sourced from Mercedes, we just lost her all together! All the truckers told me that the B20 was the way to go and I'd probably see 1-2 mpg better mileage. They were all floored to find that I'd been getting 28-30 on the highway and about 20 in town (floored in a GOOD way). Yes, consumer reports and 20/20 could not be more wrong with their idiotic mpg ratings. And my engine isn't even CLOSE to being broken in.

Biodiesel is one of the reasons I bought this Jeep. It's a shame that I haven't had a chance to fill it up with B20 until now, but I plan on making a point of using this truck stop from now on. By the time I ran a bunch of errands and got into the garage, it was already idiling smother than ever before.

This will be good. Biodiesel stock anyone?

Glad you were able to get a load of B20 in your CRD. I've been running B50 since I bought mine, nearly 3,000 miles ago. I have to mix my own, and have been using a combination of cetane 45 petro-diesel and commercial biodiesel, and when I picked my CRD up at the dealer, they had added half a dozen gallons of real rot-gut diesel to the 5 gallons or so of B5 that comes from the factory. As soon as I dumped in the 5 gallons of B100 and 5 gallons of D2, she quieted right down. I was amazed how much quieter good go juice makes this engine.

Congrats on the Bio, I just put in 10 gallons of B99 to blend with the petro in the tank for B50 in the winter time.. I use B99 in the summer, in both my VW TDI and my CRD. B50 in winter.

Our main biodiesel supply here in Oregon is made 100% in Oregon now by Sequential Biofuels, from recycled waste vegitable oil in two refineries. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy when I use it. Especially when I can use B99 and know that very little $$$ is going to OPEC.

I just filled up today with B20 in Boulder. It's a bit expensive though @ $2.99 a gallon. I'm thinking I'm going to try seeing how much different the prices vary between Boulder and Ft. Lupton (the closest two pumps near me).

I've filled up three times with B20 since I bought my CRD. This last time I got 22 mpg. Not real great, but I guess my daily driving habits impact that a bit. I don't really see any highway driving.

So my wife and I have been thinking about ways to advertise that we run bio in our CRD. There are lots of stickers and such but one of the coolest things I've seen are chrome letters in the same size and font of the VW TDI letters that say BIODIESEL or BD or BIO. See:

Any thoughts on how these would look on a CRD? The says says the letters are 1" high. Could be cool to have something like "BIOCRD" or "CRBIOD" on the back? They're cheap - may just order one and see what it looks like.

2 weekends ago, went to check out a large truck stop in the area that sells B20. Was only down to 3/4 tank and did a topoff (8 gallons). But from the looks of things, they're using higher quality bio or #2 or both. since the topoff, this beast looks to be on track to rack up 25 plus on this tank in mixed driving.
