I do get a lot faster "take off", if that makes any more sense.

The shifting doesn't feel much different at all, but I suspect the mechanic didn't bother with the resistor.

I'd like to look, but I didn't get the instructions back, and I don't know where it goes.

If someone can tell me how many ohms the resister is and where it goes, I'll put it on myself.

I haven't got through the first tank of fuel yet (ride my scooter to work most days....85mpg!).

Sorry, overlooked this - use a 2k 1/2w resistor across pressure sensor pins 1 and 3 - if 2 harsh, try 2500 ohms, or 3k - or, use pin 30 and 53 at the TCM connector

Question about this resistor: if stock is 0 ohms, "too harsh" is 2000 ohms, wouldn't something between those two be closer to the goal?

Stock isn't 0 ohms, which is a short: it is infinity ohms or no resistor - the 2k resistor is placed in parallel across the pressure sensor resistance, between ground pin 1 and the wiper pin 3 - to vary the pressure from harsh would require increased resistance, such as 2500ohms, or 3kohms, something I intend to try here, very shortly - or, you can try it, since you guys drive your KJ's infinitely more than I drive my test bed - again, you can tap into pins 30 and 53 right at the TCM - wire colors are violet\tan stripe for 30 pressure input, black\red stripe for 53 ground.

Got it. I thought it was a series resistor, not parallel across the sensor.

Ok...so I'm going to Radio Shack and picking up a 2000 Ohm resistor.

Where is the plug located that I have to short. I saw it in the instructions, but I didn't get them back, so I need a picture if you have one.

Passenger-side rear, transmission case just above the pan-rail, 4-pin connector -

blk\red - 1 gnd
gry\blu - 2 +5v ref
vio\tan - 3 signal
no wire - 4 nc

Wires 1 and 3 are in the front-side of the connector

Run that to a spst switch in the cab and you can switch between sedate and tow'n'go modes - spdt switch with a 2k and 3k resistor and you can have sedate, much better, and tow'n'go modes

Humm...that's a darn fine idea.
