One odd thing: On my CRD, if you put the key in and turn it straight to start, it delays a second before it starts cranking. I figured it had a delay built in for the glowplugs.

If so, why would it be an issue with a remote starter? If not, why doesn't it start cranking when I turn the key?
The owner's manual says the glow plugs take a maximum of 2 seconds to heat up. We haven't had any cold weather until last night, so it hasn't been an issue here. Unfortunately, my wife needed my jeep this am, so I don't know if the delay was longer in the cold. It was right at freezing point last night - all our flowers on the front porch died.
