I know it goes against convention on the CRD forums to talk about good news, but I thought I'd share. It seems the posters who like keeping us up to date on oil prices when they were rising seem to be silent when they go down.

I wonder if we can rack up as many pages talking about falling prices as we did rising. I am preparing my aluminum foil hat for what I am sure is to come.

And.....begin.......

B20 here went from $4.89 a couple weeks ago to $4.59, with regular diesel running $4.64-4.69 (down from $4.89-4.94 a few weeks ago).

I'll take it.

It is election season with oil companies and market speculators in the cross hairs. I'd expect we'll see prices continue to fall, or at least hold stable, through November 4th. Same old, same old.

I saw $4.49/gallon for dino yesterday. Better than the $4.89/gallon, but it still chaps me that I'm paying $.80/gallon less for regular unleaded for my wife's car.

Still $4.79 in Spokane but that is down ten cents. I heard a radio report this morning that leading up to the Olympics China was buying diesel and hroding it to power emergancy generators for the Olympics and that they now have what they need which is impacting the world price of diesel downward.

You are exactly right. Fuel will get down somewhere in the high $2 range and the republicans will try and claim they had something to do with it. Maybe i would vote that way if diesel went back to .90 a gallon... maybe not.

4.09 at the Flying J located at I-10 and 67th. Other places in the valley still have prices from 4.49 to 4.69.

If it gets down that low, I'm going to start hoarding some myself!

I'm just waiting to see what the winter heating oil futures start to look like. I don't use the stuff, but since it IS diesel fuel, it affects our prices. The price for LPG has tripled during shrub-boy's term, and this will be the last winter they have at the kitty... Just like the Summer, look for record-breaking increases until he's truly gone for good. If we get an early cold snap, maybe they won't jack the prices in fear of irritating the voters into actually making some changes.

Ah, gotta love Fl... Never lower the prices when you are parked RIGHT NEXT TO A PORT, and can make the public bend over a little deeper!

Diesel prices has lowered in Denmark as well. I saw it extremely cheap today at $7.88/US gallon.

I would have filled her up but I forgot my wallet so I had to drive past it :(

Uffe I seem to be following you around here.

B2 has dropped from a high of $4.91 down to as yesterday $4.41 a gallon. Still too high, but it is headed the right direction at last.

A guy around Scottsville, KY said he bought some #2 in Mt. Vernon, KY for $3.299/gal about a week or two ago............maybe it was off-road or maybe a disgruntled clerk reset the pumps. I personally could not verify it though.

B20 is 4.86 still near me, but ULSD varies anywhere from 4.60 to 5.10 depending on what part of the city you're in (and how close you are to one of the 4 interstate highways that intersect...)

Nice to see that they aren't lowering the prices much at all... A few stations that go really cheap will drop the national average, while the rest get to continue screwing the public.

Back on July 14th when I left out for TX, lowest I could find along the way was 4.72. When I started back on July 31st, lowest along the route was 4.42. Yesterday, station closest to the house here in NC lowered their price to 4.29 - back on Monday it was 4.49.

On this trip to TX, I took the '87 MB. Averaged 34 and change per tank - I was hitting the same fueling stops as with the CRD but with a 2 gallon smaller tank, and the A/C running full blast all the time. Not bad for an old mechanically injected 4 speed non-lockup slushbox that was cranking 2800 rpm at 70 mph.

And with the quality of the ride and the seats, I didn't feel as if I'd been rode hard and put up wet at the end of the day - I was pulling over to take a break because I wanted to, not because I felt like I HAD to. A/C worked remarkably well too - 50 F out of the vents on a 104 F day and engine temp stayed at the lower end of the band.

Bloody good car!! :D
