Post subject:  low oil pressure light

I had my low oil pressure light come on twice while driving. Both times I lost power and could not restart the engine after I turned it off. Both times I added about a liter of oil and it ran fine. The first time it happened was about two or three weeks before the second time.
I got an oil change in Jan 08 But I have only put 3000 miles on it. Any ideas? Do I just need an oil change?
Thanks.

Can you verify the brand, weight, and quantity of oil used at the last oil change ?

The above billed part number is indeed 0W40 Mobil 1 Synthetic..........as long as what was billed is actually what the dealer poured into your CRD. How many quarts were you invoiced for ?

I think it says 8 quarts??? Is there any way to tell if it was synthetic? I want to go in tomorrow, what do you think I should tell them and should I get an oil change? IS burning this much oil this fast for an engine with 25000 miles very wrong?
Thanks again
