With the transmission out for the Suncoast and Shift kit is it time to put a hole in the tranmission pan for the transmission temp or does it matter, can it wait? |

You can have the PML pan made with a 1/8NPT fitting. That's what I have. |

Here is another posting. If you stick with the steel pan, braze a fitting in about the same location. You may want to braze on a fitting for a drain as well. http://picasaweb.google.com/warp2diesel ... missionPan |

| Post subject: | On Thermal Bypass Return Line |
It is easier to cut transmission coolere return line and install a T than drill a hole in the pan. I think for my installation something like the B&M transmission temp kit is going in on the return side of the Thermal Bypass unit. Even though the B&M gauge is a bit ugly. With the Thermal Bypass unit if the transmission fluid gets hot, say 180*, the fluid goes on to the cooler, otherwise it just loops back to the transmission. With the temperature sensor just downstream of the Thermal Bypass unit if the TB unit is failing or the cooler is not working The temp will indicate the increase and there will really be a problem. Make sense? |
