So.. I searched and found no thread for EGT temperatures.
Figured I ll start one for future references.

If there is one already, please any mod feel free to erase this one !

Don`t forget to post the location of your egt sensor and mods (like fuel box or ecu tuning)

Today was around 75 F
Sensor is located After turbo but as close as the turbo exhaust as possible (1 inch or less)
Stage 2 In-motion, no cat, straight 2.5 all the way to the back
EHM , ORM, lift pump.

Idle Temp 250-300 F ( no AC and after warm up)
cruising temp 30-60 mph light load : between 400-600 F
Full throttle, 4wd full time, around 90 mph (cant keep it for long in wot here unless looking for a trip to the local jail) 900 F

Never seen it more than 900 F
No towing done yet.

My probe is 2-3 inches after the turbo.

Edge Trailjammer, magnaflow catback, AFE drop in filter, ORM, and EHM

Idle at red light drops to 430
street running 640-740
towing with setting 1 got to 1060 and then the coolant temp jumped up. EGT's dropped fast on the downhill. It took a long, steep grade with 5000# camper pulled at 70 MPH to get hot.

Stock with SEGR

Warm at Idle--> 440 F.
Driving--> 600-800 F.

Getting on it--> 900-1050 F.

Ambient temp around here is 100+. so the AC is running.

Post subject:  EGT Temps

SrambledKJ,

Is your CAT cleaned out or stock? Is your EGT probe in a bung welded in the downpipe that connects to the turbo or?? What brand of gauge do you have? Did you calibrate it in the 1000 degree F range before installation?

Where did the coolant gauge move to when it "jumped up" when EGT hit 1060 on your gauge?

Really appreciate your input.

My cat is stock for now. I keep telling myself to clean it out.

The bung is in the downpipe.

The guage is Autometer Black face digital. Not as bright as my powerstroke's guages.

It didn't need any calibration before using. Its a newer style than they had 3 years ago.

My coolant temps hit above 3/4 and then I got my foot out of it.

I have found that the Edge jammer actually drops egts 20 degrees at idle when in the 1 or 2 setting vs. being in the off position.
