Carefull not to pull out shaft and mess up clutch plates! ![]() Pan was clean. I used a gasket that came with the new filter kit instead of RTV. |

Thanks for the info. What exactly is the problem with the old pump? Is it absolutely necessary to replace it? |

What exactly is the problem with the old pump? Is it absolutely necessary to replace it? To summarize the research of others: Re-worked seals and some simplification of the sealing components that reduce the likelihood of of drain-back and seal leakage, especially on units that have been services and reinstalled. Basically: more likely to actually push the volume/pressure of fluid than the original units that are prone to tranny-internal leakage. |

Right - you can have the original pump cover fly-cut to remove the original sealing collar, then it's the same as the late pump - you could see that very solution in the interim pumps, where that particular surface was very shiny from being machined after the fact - then you just need the new case cover\seal to complete the job |

Some dealers will work with you on installing the Suncoast TC (your cost) instead of the DCJ version under warranty, some won't - seems like they all should, tho - saves them a bundle of money in the long run BTW: nice pics, Bill................... |

Thanks for all the info. My tranny is back to needing 30 seconds of idle time in the morning or else it won't move. I hope I can get a new pump for free while i'm still under the factory 7/70. And if they would slip in the suncoast during the r/r, i'd have it made. |
