Well with the help of an Audi R8, 7% downgrade and a tank of Super Diesel, I acheived 207kph/129mph via GPS before the engine shut down at 4300 rpm. 1 mph below what the tires are rated. So for anyone who wanted to know exactly how fast a Liberty KJ CRD 2.8L would go, there is your answer. Yes I have photos but Image Shack is having issues. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Nice. ![]() I assume the Audi R8 was the drafting buddy, since aerodynamics are not the KJs strong suit. One would most likely need someone ahead splitting the air to reach 129 and engine shutoff. |

No actually he came on to the on ramp and I was already humping about 118 and he noticed that a Jeep was about to pass his $150,000 sports car so he dropped a gear and floored it. Once we got on the steep grade he noticed I was pulling him again and then finally hit the gas and left. He looked 3 times to make sure I was about to pass him, it really thew him off. |

Oh, never mind my question regarding track or autobahn. You answered that one while I was typing. |

Actually I just saw your post. No he was about 150 meters in front. As soon as Image Station starts working again I will post the photos of the R8, Speedo and GPS. Yikes. I hit that speed in my 280Z (uphill 7% grade, 10,000 ft elevation, another story), I would never take an SUV that fast. |

It cruises nicely at 110. It turns nice fast laps at the track and isa hoot on the auto-x courses. I plan on running it at a SCCA event or 2 in Virginia. I might do some laps at VIR as well with it. Anyone want to do a ride along? |

I would except the wind noise from my misaligned doors at the moment would burst my eardrum...... |

Yes well it is not much better, I had to look down to realize the engine stopped getting faster. I felt it but could not hear it. |

My personal top speed cruising is 170 mph in a 2000 Audi S3 a few years back. I race anything with wheels. The slower the better, I love beating up on fast expensive cars that are under powered and "slow". Imagine gettin pushed around a race track by a CRD Jeep Liberty in the curves, many have given me the thubs up on the track and a hearty fan fair while screaming by in a 4 wheel drift, tires howling at the track. Something about a big fat pig kicking but at the track that makes people smile. |

I do the same thing on the track. I have an old GSX-R600 that I use as my track bike, and it's always a thrill to pass a brand new, hot rodded literbike on the track. Fastest I've been was 149mph (GPS verified) on my motorcycle at Road Atlanta. I've seen triple digits on the CRD, and it was doing just fine....but stopping it was always in the back of my mind. The brakes SUCK! |

I find the nose dive the hardest to deal with. It really upsets the rear end and it wants to come around. I am dealing with slight warped rotrs on the front I think came about when I loaned it to someone. Proper modualtion and it is not so noticeable. |

Yep, me. ![]() Actually, I'd like to get the Miata up there next year too. Such a beautiful track. I'd love to whip the little roadster around it a few times. |

Such a beautiful track. I'd love to whip the little roadster around it a few times. They have this thing called holiday laps there. You bring a toy or like $25 and you get to run as many times as the day permits. A guy at work told me about it and im going, just not in the Liberty. Its on November 14th. He said that you run behind a pace-car and you cannot pass BUT, he said the pace car hauls.... and he had a Z06, so im sure it is fun. |

I don't go to the old section very often. Too many people! If it's in Saint Augustine, and it's hot...it must be Datil peppers! I planted one bush of Datils and so far I have gotten 14 off of it and today I looked and there must be about 20 more ready. Time to get the rubber gloves on and pick them! ![]() Terry |
