Post subject:  blower motor resistor

guys,

I am about to break something. I have read the posts about changing out the blower motor resistor but I can't get the wiring harness out. I pulled out the red part but can't get the stupid thing out.

I need help before I break something in frustration.

Here's a thread with pictures over on KJ Country: replacing blower motor resistor block. It's located behind the glove compartment. You need to pull the red tab out (I used some wire thru the hole in the tab, others use various tools to go where their fingers can't), then squeeze up on the black tab and pull the connector off, then remove the single bolt and take the unit out.

Yup I used a pair of needle nose pliers to pull out the red tab but I had to use some pliers to pull out the wire harness also. There are two 8mm screws to take out, one on the top left and one on the bottom right of the resistor. The one on the bottom right is a pain to get out. Then just take it out and put the new one in putting the screws in first.

Oh, it is behind the glove box and you will have to press in the two tabs on the side of the glove box to get it to come out and out of the way.

Oops, forgot the one down under the resistor block. Thanks for posting that 8)
