Post subject:  CRD Resale Value
Stopped by my dealership yesterday and they had a 2005 CRD Limited with 33,000 miles selling for $16,999
They also put 5 new Wrangler S-RA's on (YUK :shock: ) along with new front and rear break pads

Oh Ye are so jovial in thy quick witted responses!

Yes, I am prone to some of these gaffs. Here's a couple more I did in my line of work.

I did a large presentation for the management of Steak N Shake. Maybe you have some of those restaurants in your area. I meant in my powerpoint to say "Stakeholders" instead I wrote "Steakholders" which I was absolved from this gaff as they thought it was intentional and funny.

Another situation, I was holding a discussion on IT strategy for another client and talked about "Data Repository". At one point, I uttered the phrase "Data Suppository" :oops: :oops: :shock: :lol:

So now back to our thread of CRD Resale Value........

Ah yes, the first case was quite humorous and intelligent. They say wit is a sign of intelligence, or genetic trait of luck.

As for the second, well, I myself have several times made the mistake of typing "glass bowel" in place of "glass bowl" search it, its in the CRD section.

Try communicate when you from another country and you have to think carefully about what you type for instance;

Patooie - had no idea what that was until it was explained to me on the forum.

Tranny - not so difficult to work that one out but had me in the beginning.

In future i'll ask my wife, who is an english teacher, to spell check my postings for any possible errors in case i to or too am chastised.

No this is unacceptable now. The quality of grammar on this thread is putrid and needs to be jacked up.

Patooie applies to the gassers and i would love to read Sir Sam's explanation
of what patooie means, if he's up to it :lol:

On other websites I suspect a tranny has nothing to do with transmissions. My daughter came back from a trip to Boston with a comment about a "tranny shop" she had seen, it took several moments before I figured out what she was talking about.

I have to be careful when speaking to my mates about Jeeps or cars in general as i'm now saying " tranny, patooie, gas instead of petrol and sometimes i even think that i'm driving a left hand drive CRD. They all look at me wondering where the hell all this lingo comes from :lol:

Forgive me for hijacking this lovely thread to talk about resale. . . .

Bought mine less than a month ago. 2006 CRD Sport, 25,341 miles - paid $11,995. Dealer said that their web host listed the price wrong on Autotrader, so they would honor the price for one day only. I saw it online at 2:00 and bought it at 7:00. Covington, LA.

It checked out, too. Carfax certified one-owner, not a blemish in the history. Previous owner had serviced it at the dealership where I bought it, so I got all the service records. I don't know if I bought a problem or not (3,000 miles on it already and only one "shimmy" at ~60 mph) or if the dealership just needed to dump it. Either way, I am happy.
