Last week the CEL came on. When I got home I hooked my code reader to it and it said that there were no codes. I then held the clear code button and the code cleared. It took a week for the light to come on again and this time I went to Advanced Auto and had them hook their code reader to the CRD and it also said there were no codes. My code reader is an Inova brand, I don't know what kind of reader the store had but it was different than mine. Does anyone have any idea why I can't read the codes?

May have been an enhanced code, which a standard OBD2 reader wouldn't understand - reader should be CAN-capable

you might try plugging it in, then turn the key to on, or vise verse combinations of both, I've found some code readers to be finicky and have to be plugged in at just the right time and order.

I just returned the Actron CP9410 PocketScan Plus. After talking with tech support they said that diesels aren't supported. All I got was "Link Error". I've now ordered a Cen-tech 94169 from Harbor Freight per feedback from L.O.S.T.
