2005 CRD with 42K. In very low speed transitions such as going over a driveway ramp at an angle where the Jeep rocks fairly strongly side-to-side, we get a groaning sound from the rear supension that sounds like it involves rubber. I have been unable to reproduce it by putting the chassis up on stands and then jacking up one side or the other of the rear axle. Anyone have a bright idea as to what it might be and how to confirm it? Thanks, DOC |

could be the rear sway bar... I would get under there and give her a good blast with the pressure washer to clean things up |

The sway bar doesn't contact anything - but rear shocks and shock mounts may be dry - and the mount at the top of the diff the 'boomerang' might have an issue. |

i understand that, but the rubber sway bar isolates may be dry or caked with road grime |

The rear sway bar doesn't have rubber mounts, it's metal on metal both ends. There are plenty of bushings to look at back there - control arms, bomerang ends, shock mounts, even a rear ball joint! |
