Folks, I just nailed the CRD a couple or several times with the just-installed INMOTION ST-II reflash, EDGE TRAIL switched OFF, Transgo switched to FUN, and Suncoast TC: still not as fast as my Dodge, but very respectable - I'd say prolly frightening to most people, compared to oem stock - 'course, the E-T module more than recovered the F37 detune, so the KJ was way quicker than normal, but the INMOTION tune really rocks - gots lots mo' testin' ta do, but INMOTION's ST-II is a winnah, aamopo!

(Kiddies, don't try this at home without the Suncoast billet torque convertor - it is good for what ails the KJ - don't leave home without it!)

FYI, some folks think the INMOTION tune is just the Euro version with less EGR, but James has modified all the emissions-stifled parameters and enhanced the rest to create a(n off-road) mini-monster outa the DCJ-detuned 2.8L 4-banger - 350bucks and a few schekels to the postman and yer good to go......................

For some strange reason this seems so familiar.

Notice any difference in EGT's between the Inmotion and the Trailerjammer?

So gmctd, how many miles on those stock boost hoses you recon it will hold with that setup? ;)

Hi gmctd,

If you were to ask Inmotion how much they have increased the fuel (not only rail pressure but quantity also), even if only on a percentage basis, I would be interested to see their response.

IF they have greatly increased the power output of the engine, I would personally fear one of the two components would be "lacking" in durability:

* Cylinder head (wasn't designed to operate past 1xx bar peak combustion pressure)
* Main bearing retainers in the tunnel that are made of aluminum

I might just have to shoot them a note myself to ask a few questions out of curiosity...

Here's what I see, professionally: the aluminum cylinder head would be a problem, but that VM went the extra distance and placed 6 bolts equi-distance around each cylinder, same as the Isuzu aluminum heads, but critical in any Diesel application - the wet cylinder liners are not a problem, having been proven in billions of miles of hard service - the forged steel crank is certainly not a problem, as are not the forged steel rods - the full-circle mains-carriers are surrounded full-circle by the cast-iron bulkheads, good for radial stresses, maybe not for axial stresses, which would be greatly increased in a clutched manual-transmission setup, way less of a problem in our (USA) KJ, the auto trans smoothing out the stresses of gear changes - I have wondered about the possible existence of cast-iron carriers, maybe a Euro version for HD service, such as lorries and trams

Only thing that concerns me is the twin balance-shaft setup - will the design handle the increased inertial forces of the much quicker-accelerating crankshaft? Being geared, it should not be a problem, but may not have been tested under extremely rapid rotational acceleration\deceleration events, such as 0-60mph in 6 seconds, where the crank rapidly accelerates to hi-rpm thru a gear range, then rapidly decelerates to lower rpm as the trans upshifts, repeating the sequence as demanded.

No intention of war, just offering another viewpoint for your consideration - what are your thoughts, considering this?

FYI - I've worked with programmers over the entire span of my professional career (I'm retired, now), and experiences were that they ranged from secretive\furtive to extremely paranoid, some criminally paranoid, given to aggressive behavior and unnecessary\unwarranted threats of retaliation - doesn't make for easy discourse when immediatley forced into being defensive - don't be surprised at any adverse reaction when approaching any programmer as to operational specifics in his work

MrMopar64.... if Inmotion is secretive, might also be worth talking to Kerma (Charlie Migliore) about the tunes he has produced for the 2.8 VM. I think both his and the Inmotion are based on euro tunes.

Have both this week.
My Diesel Weasel is plenty fast enough.
When I keep my feet calm the fuel mileage is respectable.
This could be the ORM way to put out the check engine light (CEL).
If my kids wreck this I will just yell loud and buy another.
