You think this would work? I'm tinking about doing it, old series '02-'04 2.8 turbo on my 2.5. It should spool up earlier.... I may need a blow of valve? |

I'm not that familiar with either engine when it comes down to nitty gritty details, but can the 2.5L control the variable vanes on the 2.8L turbo? |

Now there's the trick, the old 2.8 doesn't have variable vanes.... |

isn't the vane control vacuum? - wouldn't you just need the appropriate vacuum line? |

The VGT turbo is vacuum actuated, however there is a vacuum solenoid control which is activated by a PWM signal from the ECM. So no, it really is not that simple - but shouldn't be too hard, hopefully Mr Mopar can fill in the gap. |

The old 2.8 was a wastegated turbo. That turbo was/is the same as the 2.5L turbo. |

Yeah, that would then be a waste of time. |

If it is a mechanical wastegate...you could get a HKS or other maker (Greddy/ect.) "Wastegate Controller" which will let you hold the wastegate closed and let it bleed off at higher psi. That will give you much more bottom end. |

It won't make it spool any faster, and when you make the wastegate open later and make more boost, the ECU will throw a code for boost pressure too high and then you're in limp home. |
