Can some of the people that have had the suncoast installed give feed back. I'm trying to decide whether to do this mod. Thanks.

I am extremely pleased with mine. I also have the inmotion tume with it. Is it perfect? No, but if someone could tap into to the TCM then it would be. It is 90% better then the stock setup. I have about 25,000 miles on my setup with no issues. Just pulled a single place snowmobile trailer w/ sled and jeep full of parts from Minnesota to west yellowstone, Montana and got 24.2MPG.(hand calculated for round trip)(coming back was empty) averaged 76MPH and pulled all mountian passes w/o dropping out of overdrive at 75-80 mph. Extremely happy.

for me it was peace of mind that the TC would actually do it's job...
My ex had her Trans rebuilt at 12K miles cause the stock TC crapped
out...

in every day easy driving situations you prolly won't notice a difference...

towing i noticed a HUGE difference... hard acceleration is noticable too...

trans go shift kit i think is what makes the bigger difference... more solid shifts
the resistor, in my opinion, should be on a switch and used when towing otherwise
it is really rough shifting...

but like i said i did it for peace of mind

Worth it. And dont forget to replace the old pump with the new design unit.

The T/C always wants to go.
It is noticeable in stop and go traffic when the engine is at optimum temp.
Just shift into neutral, save fuel and brakes.
I put an aux tranny cooler with thermal bypass because I am in the cold zone.
We did it in the yard, had a reputable tranny shop do the shift kit and pump install.
Would have it done by the shop with what I know now.
The T/C and shift kit install is good for towing and happy feet.
Use the search to find the installation threads, or ask the wizard GMCTD

Trying to understand this. Elsewhere, I thought I'd seen that the new pump style merely replaced the way the pump seals? The implication was that the old pump would work provided the seal was installed lubed and the O-ring wasn't buggered. Am I wrong in this?

Ya gots to interpolate here, George - if DCJ woulda thunk the original pump sealing was workable, they never woulda sprung fer the bucks to rework the pump and design an entirely new seal, eliminating that three-seal kluge - as with any transmission seal(s), never install'em dry
