I just replaced mine last week and the new redesigned fuel separator part # is 68043089-AA. The new wiring harness and fuel heater connector part # is 68043086-AA so far no problems and no air leaks I do think it runs a little better with the heater plugged in since it has gotten colder here in KC. Oh the dealer has replaced mine three times no charge at all. |

Hmm, perhaps I ought to sell off the two factory heads I have - the one that was in the vehicle to begin with, and a new one I got as a spare. No need of them now I have the Stanadyne filter head, heater, and Omega temp probe. Don't send any offers yet please - just thinking out loud - I'll post if and when I decide to sell them. |

I've been out of the CRD scene for awhile. Wow, they finally redesigned the factory filter head? Is there a magic complaint I can give at the dealer which will get it replaced? My deductible is $100 and my garage is full of construction stuff for a house renovation project. Come to think of it, it does stutter bad after heavy acceleration. Maybe I'll get them to reproduce that and see if they'll replace it. I have to admit that I am impressed that they redesigned this, given the number of CRDs in the US and the financial woes of the company. - Chris |

Pics of that revised 68043089-AA head and 68043086-AA harness setup could be very revealing, if you can ascertain my meaning............................ |

bbo posted them looks like they put more plastic around the heater connector - to prevent leaks. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=381161#381161

That'll work - be nice to see the actual connector on the puck, see if it's similar to the Fleetguard as used on Cummins |

I wonder if it has a better primer bulb. The old one is worthless; mine popped and won't pressurize anymore. |

I got one and it has eliminated air sucking and low MPG. I am back at 26-28 highway from a low of 25 before I changed. javascript:emoticon(':D') ATXKJ wrote: bbo posted them looks like they put more plastic around the heater connector - to prevent leaks. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=381161#381161 ![]() |

Same thing happened to mine. No matter how many times I pump it, no squirt. |

Thanks - that appears near identical to the high-current connector used with the Fleetguard fuel manager heater in the Dodge Cummins trucks - 37bucks for that and a short hank of wire |

I'll pay postage if anyone would ship me their damaged oem fuel manager head - I need several for destructive show'n'tell covering the several areas of concern - USPS Priority mail will furnish the shipping carton and ship it for ~5bucks, with 2-3day delivery, undamaged - just place the head in a sealable zip-loc baggie or several to disguise the odor - my mail lady carrier gets upset when any odor overpowers her parfum.............. |

January or later is good, after season of lost and missing packages is well over - I've rec'd several fuel, brake, and trans related items, where the item leaked thru the packaging - very noticeable in her hot, un-airconditioned mail truck, with naught but a small rattley fan wafting the summer heat over her.......lessee, wimmin don't sweat, right?......they....ummm....glow.....right.....over her glowing personage Needles to say, sweat and oil don't mix, where a woman is concerned |
