Diesel need to breath right :?: Has anyone replaced the entire exhaust from the turbo back with a 3" pipe & muffler?? I figure between that, the ORM and the chip, that thing should come alive.
Then add a new torque converter and transmission shift kit :!:

Someone did a while back - and it was an expensive custom exhaust - don't remember him ever posting performance data.
although if you look at gmctd's turbo measurements - 3" is overkill - the 2 1/2" should be fine if you get rid of restrictions
The stock muffler drops it down to ~2"
but depending on your local inspection requirements - you may be able to do no muffler at all - the Turbo is the muffler.
The folks who did that had a performance boost (and noise - some put the muffler back in)

That info is not really relivent. The longer the tube after the initital exit from the turbo, the more restrictive it will be. This length of the tubing itself is a good reason to step up to a 2.5 or 3" exhaust. You may not see a ton of power from a 3" setup, but the turbo/motor will be much more responsive.

All i did is cut the factory muffler out of the system and replaced it with 2 1/2" pipe. Throttle response is much inproved as is the power difference.. and who doesn't like that right? I didn't find that the sound is really any different other than being a little louder, but the sound is a nice deep rumble.. I didn't get the drone some others have stated they got with this setup...
