In the FSM, pages 8W-33-4,5, they show the Diesel speed control connecting the speed control switches on the steering wheel, via the clock spring, routing directly to the ECM (via connectors C100, C105 and C111), on ECM pins C1-65 (sensor gnd), C1-54(S/C switch signal #2) and C1-30(S.C switch signal #1.

Don't see any fuses in that circuit. No more vacuum servo like the V6 model used to have.

Hummmmm, that would explain why it is not listed in the fuse panel or the power distribution center. It is electrical though so what happens when it quits to make it work again? I will search for my electronic manual and see if I can trace the connectors down to see if something got pulled apart in the snow and ice. Everything else seems to be working normally.

Thanks Ranger.

Is everything else on wired the clockspring working? Audio controls, horn? The manual has the pinouts from the speed switches on the clockspring connector - might be a good place to start, to see if its alive.

I will check it out at lunch or after work but I know the radio controls were working ok, just not cruise. I don't know how long the cruise has actually not worked either as I have not seen bare pavement in three week. :?

Hey Cows,
I lost my cruise control for a couple of days after rinsing off the engine with a hose. Before I had a chance to troubleshoot it, the cruise started working again. Maybe you should look for connections where moisture might be the culprit.

Hummm, good advise. I have been splashing through some puddles. Three weeks and 78" of snow now it is in the mid 40's for a few days so we definately have the melts.

Humm some cruise's were designed to use vacuum. Can you operate the blower button and select where to direct air properly? That console thing to direct air to your feet or to your windscreen is also controlled by vacuum. So if that's not working probably there's a vacuum leak somewhere.

I hope the brake vacuum and air control vacuum is seperate, otherwise you'd notice the KJ would be harder to brake while your windscreen is all clogged up :D

DING, DING, DING, DING, DING!!!!!! Widowmaker wins the prize. CC came back last night after being gone in the morning and mid day.

When things dry out some I need to trace the wiring and figure out which connector is getting wet and causing the disconnect.

Thanks all.
