While in the last 100 miles of a 900 mile drive home from Michigan to NJ on Sunday, my CD changer died and could not be reset. I was in the middle of a song on a normal factory produced CD when it just quit. Turned off the radio but could not reset it. It was only when I turned the truck off and restarted it the following morning that it worked again. Have had no problems since then. Any ideas why this would happen?

Also, never had a "disk error" message that I have seen occassionally on scratched CD's.

My 2005 CRD has just over 5k miles.

At least it was on the last 100 miles.

Mine did something similar. I'd mention it to the dealer. My local dealer gave me the run around and wouldn't switch units unless it messed up while they had it. A dealer in the next town was awesome and just ordered a new one, swapped it out and mailed back my cd with no questions asked. Couldn't hurt to talk to your guys.

Hi,

I think it's a great idea. I am headed to the dealer Monday for a couple of small issues and will see if they will swap it out.

Thanks,
John

If a dealership gives you problems, ask to talk to the service manager. Inform him that your unhappy and you want the regional representative for DC's phone number to file a formal complaint and your going to their compitition. THat should spark some interest.

Thanks longarm. I may do just that, but for something else. They agreed to change the CD changer...parts on order. No luck on other issues though...
