| Post subject: | Suncoast issues |
Just had my local race shop install my suncoast, and they had a reputable trans shop do the shift kit. 1400 for the install later it had completely eliminated my 50 mph drivetrain shutter. I was really loving it. Then just a week after install a terrible vibration/shudder developed at idle rpms in neutral, park and even worse in drive. No shudder/vibration exists in reverse gear. What the hell is going on. Any ideas? |

Mebbe the race shop raced thru the install and left half the bolts out, or all loose: bellhousing\torque convertor - opposite torque twist in Reverse |

What did your race shop answer to that exact question? Have them check the TC bolt torque settings via the inspection hole, while they're checking the tranny housing bolts per GMCTD's suggestion and the u-joint flange bolts. Did you ask the people who subcontracted the job out to the tranny shop what's wrong? Did they inform you they would sub the job out? Did they hint that the Suncoast was at fault? From your subject line it appears that you believe that is the problem area. Keep us informed. |

basics - did you 2x check the fluid level and that they filled it with the right +4 fluid? several shops have tried to use regular fluid and the clutches have problems, also replacing the converter - commonly leaves air bubbles which come out after you cycle everything a couple of times. |

+1 to ATXKJ Deff check fluid level, especially when your having issues getting started in reverse or first or stalling as you come to a stop. Obviously it's difficult to fully fill the trans w/o driving it and rechecking repeatedly. |
